    Oil Change in Dubai

Engine oil change in Dubai from AED 150. Full synthetic, OEM filter, sump check. Free pickup.

    45 minutes (typical)
    Guide price: AED 150–600

    What's Included

    Everything covered in this service

    • Drain old engine oil and dispose responsibly
    • Install new OEM-grade oil filter
    • Refill with manufacturer-spec full synthetic oil
    • New sump plug washer
    • Reset service light
    • Top-up coolant, brake fluid, screen wash
    • Visual underbody and leak check

An oil change in Dubai is not the same job as an oil change in London. Sustained 45°C ambient temperatures, short urban trips on Sheikh Zayed Road and the daily duty cycle of luxury V8s all shear oil faster. We use the OEM-specified viscosity (typically 0W-40 or 5W-30 full synthetic) and OEM-grade filtration.

How Often Should You Change Your Oil in Dubai?

The most common mistake is following the manufacturer's long-life service interval. BMW says 24,000 km. Mercedes says 15,000 km. These intervals assume average temperatures of 15–25°C, moderate driving and ideal conditions. Dubai offers none of those.

A simple rule for Dubai heat: halve the manufacturer's interval. If the manual says 15,000 km, change at 7,500 km. If it says 10,000 km, change at 5,000 km. An oil change every six months costs far less than the engine repairs degraded oil causes.

    Audi / VW15,000 km7,500 km5W-30 VW 504/507 full synthetic

Japanese brands already use shorter factory intervals, so the Dubai adjustment is smaller. European brands, especially German ones, use long-life intervals that assume cooler conditions. In Dubai's stop-start traffic and heat, those intervals are dangerously optimistic.

Conventional vs Synthetic vs Full Synthetic Oil

Not all engine oils are equal, and Dubai's operating temperatures magnify the difference between them.

Full synthetic is the right choice in Dubai. The yearly cost difference over conventional oil is roughly AED 300–700, about AED 1 a day, against engine repairs from degraded oil that can run to AED 5,000–40,000.

Signs Your Car Needs an Oil Change

Do not rely only on the service interval counter. Dubai conditions degrade oil faster than the car's computer predicts. Watch for these signs.

    • Oil on the dipstick is dark black and gritty. Fresh oil is amber or honey-coloured.
    • The engine sounds louder than usual, especially ticking or knocking at startup.
    • The oil change or service warning light is on.
    • Exhaust smoke is darker or bluer than normal.
    • Fuel consumption has risen without any change in how you drive.
    • Engine temperature runs slightly higher than normal.
    • The oil level drops between services, which can mean burning or leaking.
    • You cannot remember the last oil change. If in doubt, change it.

Two or more of these signs together usually mean the oil is past its useful life.

Common Oil Change Mistakes That Damage Your Engine

    Using the wrong viscosity

Putting 10W-40 in an engine designed for 5W-30 raises fuel consumption, slows oil flow to critical parts at startup and can damage variable valve timing. Always match the manufacturer's exact viscosity, printed on the oil cap and in the owner's manual.

    Skipping the oil filter

Some shops reuse the old filter to save AED 30–50. A clogged filter restricts flow and forces the bypass valve open, so unfiltered oil circulates through the engine. Every oil change needs a new filter.

    Overfilling the engine

Too much oil is as harmful as too little. The crankshaft whips excess oil into foam, and the air bubbles reduce lubrication. Overfilling also raises crankcase pressure, which can blow seals and gaskets.

Using cheap oil in European engines

Modern European engines carry specific oil approvals such as BMW LL-01, MB 229.5 and VW 504/507. These are engineering requirements. Oil without the right approval can cause timing chain stretch, turbo failure and DPF problems.

Which Oil Brand and Grade for Your Car?

A quick reference for popular cars in Dubai. Always check the owner's manual, because engine variants within one model can need different specifications.
